Park City.

I ended the work week feeling just how-you-say HAGGARD. Completely flattened and drained. I was pulp. Then when all seemed exhausted... we got a mini-hallelujah-vacation. Jim came to town!

PG and I had a nice snowy drive to Park City Friday night, munching on tortilla chips and evading speeding tickets. Park City is lovely oh so lovely with little shops and restaurants, christmas lights and snow all tucked into the side of some magnificent peaks.

We met Jim and Camille and had a belly busting night #1 eating our weight in Vietnamese perfection.  It was one of those dinners spent eating deliciousness and thinking about how delicious the deliciousness was. PG and Jim talked about the law and schools of law. Camille and I talked about balloon animals, college, children and other things that are fun. Jim told us funny stories about home and work and the prius.

We watched Monsters vs. Aliens. Strangely hilarious.

The next morning the troops headed out to the slopes and I fell back... on the couch, by the fire, with one of my favorite books The Alchemist. I devoured half of my reading before my more active counterparts came home. That quiet thinking time could not have been more precious. I could finally arrange my thoughts and go live in my book. I think of myself as a pretty extroverted gal, but work often takes all of the "verts" out of me completely. I needed to reboot my mind/heart/soul trifecta.

Then came home the skiers. We sat on the couch watching mindless (Kardashian) TV. We laughed about things that reallyget us

Night #2 was date night. Just PG and I left in Park City. We went to Mexican Food but of course (It was good but we both agreed my enchiladas were better) and then walked around Main Street before falling asleep in the comfiest sheets I've ever touched... Phil said 8 billion thread count.

Sometimes life seems like it's pushing on you from above and below. Like your Alice in Wonderland and your growing in a very small house. Life can feel tight. Then clouds part and you get a little gift of time, family, silence, laughter. This weekend was one of those gifts.

Sounds like an amazing getaway. I love the Alice analogy because it's so true. It's exactly how it gets. Those mini-vacations are like a breath of fresh air that allows you to keep pushing through life. They make work worth your time. Also, might i note how jealous i am of you and phil's photogenicity... Me and Dallin can't take pictures to save our lives unless we are being directed by a professional. :) You guys are awesome. we should hang out more!

haha...nothing like mindless Kardashian television watching. I feel so bad when I watch it...and yet so good at the same time!
